I know what you’re thinking… I’ve jumped on the creatine trend. It’s everywhere on social media right now. And yes, partly that’s true. I kept seeing it all over my TikTok, but honestly, I wasn’t paying much attention. I always thought creatine was just for getting bulky and building muscle (which is partly true).
That changed when I came across a video from a doctor explaining how beneficial creatine can be for both women and men over 60. It supports cognitive function, especially when combined with resistance training, helps counteract age-related muscle loss (sarcopenia), improves bone health during and after menopause, and boosts brain function and mood by supporting cellular energy. That hit home for me, as I’m watching my parents get older and noticing memory decline I immediately wanted them to start taking it.
Then, as if the algorithm was reading my mind, every other video I saw was about how amazing creatine is for women. And here’s why:
Creatine benefits for women
Improves muscle and bone health
Enhances brain function and mood
Aids post-exercise recovery
Supports fat loss
Boosts strength and power for high-intensity workouts
Helps combat age-related muscle and bone decline (especially after menopause)
Supports memory, focus, and reduces mental fatigue
For me, it honestly sold me on the mood and brain function benefits.
I’ve now been using creatine for over 4 months and I feel like a different woman. My ability to concentrate and stick to one task has skyrocketed, my energy levels are higher, and the brain fog I struggled with since having my daughter has completely disappeared.
If you’re considering looking into creatine, I can’t recommend it enough (and as always, check in with your health professional if you need to!).
