At 98 years young, Nanna Shirl is proof that purpose never ages. Every single day, she moves with intention, laughter, and the kind of quiet strength that inspires everyone around her. She’s lived through nearly a century of change, yet her spirit remains unshakable, a true living legacy. To us, she’s Nan, but she’s the embodiment of resilience, grace, and the belief that confidence has no expiry date. Still saying yes to things that challenge her and way out of her comfort zone at 98.

Earlier this year, she lost her husband, the love of her life, and moved in with me (Sarah). It’s been a year of change, loss, and adjustment, but also of unexpected beauty. A friend said something recently that moved us to tears:

“I’ve gotten so emotional, full bawling. You’ve made her so happy and given her such purpose — to feel like she’s wanted, worth it, enough, and an inspiration — when she could have felt so down and alone after losing your Pa.”

That’s the heart of this campaign. If we could all live like Shirl, with love, kindness, and purpose, imagine what the world could be like. She is our living reminder that purpose never ages, and that strength is as much about compassion as it is about resilience.
