Hey TL fam,
A new season is here (we all survived winter) and with that has come a lot of reflection on the past few months and 2025 in general. I can’t believe I’ve already started planning my family Christmas.
2025 has been a big year for Tully and me, full of transitions and, if I’m being completely honest, moments of can we do this? Do we want to do this? But every time, we come back to the same answer: yes.
Tully and I have been in business together for over 10 years now, and I’d say the last two have been the most challenging. But the more open and honest we are about it, the more we hear back from people saying, “omg, us too.” One of my favourite sayings is “vulnerability is the door to connection.” It’s proven true, and it’s what inspired us to start the Curious Conversations business series (if you haven’t listened, you can check it out here).
Back to Tully Lou, this year has brought new challenges: longer production times, delivery delays (which can be very frustrating for someone who loves to feel in control, something I’ve been working on (a recent meditation course has definitely helped.) Our mocha set was one of those lessons in patience. For weeks, people asked where it was, and as much as we wanted it here, it was out of our hands. One of our biggest life lessons lately has been to let go; it is what it is. Whether it’s work, friendships, or anything else beyond our control, I keep coming back to this quote I once heard from Kendall Jenner on a podcast with Jay Shetty: “If your happiness depends on the actions of others, you’re at the mercy of things you can’t control.”
So, as spring starts to bloom here in Melbourne, we’re choosing to see things through rose-coloured glasses. The cup is half full. Our best-selling leggings are coming back after selling out again, and I like to think of it as the bakery being fully stocked with more fresh styles to take you wherever you go.
To sign off my favourite word in Italian this week has been libertà, which means freedom. I hope you all feel free and are living life on your terms, because your happiness truly is in your hands, as Kenny would say.
