Ok, it is getting cold here in Melbourne, and we can pull back on the things that really make us feel good. I know I use a lot of excuses like its too cold, I can't be bothered or I would rather just stay in and watch Netflix. So I have put together a little list of my non-negotiables during the colder months so you don't get in a winter slump.
- Move your body even if it's on YouTube with a little pilates class I have some favourites that can really work up a sweat and will link them here. Posture Tonic Pilates by Izzy.
- Get some Vitamin D. I didn't realise how important this was until I had my daughter going outside, even if its just for a brisk 10 - 20 minute walk the sun on your skin just automatically makes you feel awake and happier.
- Immune Support supplements. I cannot stress enough how important this is. I have had a cold or sinus problems every 6 - 8 weeks this entire year at the end of May I had enough I was taking supplements only when I started to feel sick to help kick the illness however I now take immune support supplements every single day - non negotiablesand I have not been sick since. I like to take Vitamin D spray, zinc, High dose of Vitamin C and bone broth every single day I am not sure you would call this a supplement, but hell, let's chuck that in there.
- Layer Up. This one might sound so ridiculous to a girly who has lived in Victoria her whole life. However I never ever used to dress for the weather if my outfit looked cute and didn't keep me warm that was it. I know wear thermals, like I layer the thermals and I wear two pairs of socks. You don't want the feet to be cold. My mum used to tell me that the moment your feet are cold is when you get sick.
- Plan fun things. If this is a holiday or dinners with friends, make sure you fill up your calendar with things that give you joy as I mentioned at the start of this post omg its so easy in winter to be a hermit. Don't do that be social and plan things when you can.
Anyway, let me know some of your tips to beat these winter blues.
Big love and stay warm, Tully x
